MARION E. CORNELL
Of Owego, NY

Marion E. Cornell, 97, of Owego, NY passed away on Monday February 22, 2010, at Elderwood Tioga in Waverly, NY where she had been residing. She was born in Owego on April 19, 1912, the daughter of the late Frederick and Nora (Hyde) Farnham. Marion was predeceased by her husband, Manford A. Cornell; her daughter, Betty Cornell; her great granddaughter, Nicole Cornell; her sisters, Dorothy, Anna and Freida; and her brothers, Charles, Donald and Frederick. She is survived by her four sons and daughters-in-law, Frederick and Yvonne Cornell, Sayre, PA, Manford V. and Sharon Cornell, Newark Valley, NY, Robert E. and Beverly Cornell, Sayre, PA, Richard and Sherry Cornell, Easton, PA; ten grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and eleven great great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and a very special friend, Rev. Arlyce Kretschman. Marion was a lifelong faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Owego. In early years, she was an excellent seamstress, and she always enjoyed baking, reading, and especially loved tending to her rose garden.
A Funeral Service will be held at Richards Funeral Home on Thursday February 25, 2010, at 1:00pm, with Rev. G. Terry Steenburg officiating. Interment will be at a later date in Evergreen Cemetery, Owego. Family and friends are invited to visit at Richards Funeral Home on Thursday from 11:00am until the time of service at 1:00pm.
